Katy Perry Jokes About “Broken Doll Eye Party Trick” After Stuck Eyelid – Billboard

Katy Perry has proven time and time again that she gets the joke. Even when the punchline is seemingly out of his control and involves pretty conspiracy theories. Take, for example, the odd moment at his Las Vegas To play residency this week when her eye started twitching so much she had to take a second to put her lid back on in the middle of the show. Decked out in a soda can dress, Perry appeared to be struggling to open her right eyelid, so she blinked her left in an effort to revive the stuck lid.

Of course, the bizarre moment was caught on camera and quickly went viral in a TikTok fan clip in which Perry calmly tries to manually reopen the stuck voyeur while urging the crowd to “make more noise” for his band. Cue the rush of bizarre theories about what was “really” going on, including the suggestion that she had suffered a “mechanical failure” and been replaced by a Katybot. She gets it, so on Thursday (October 27), Perry reposted the video and turned it into a wink joke.

“Welcome to all my #flatlands #spaceisfakers #birdsarentrealers #skyisntbluers to come see my broken doll eye party thing IRL in Vegas next year!” she wrote, with the message, “POV: when you see the new 2023 TO PLAY See you.” Katy just announced new dates for a series of residencies in 2023, telling all Katy Kats who didn’t wake up in Vegas what to expect.

“The show’s setlist is a fun trip down memory lane back to 2008, a time when we weren’t all frozen in paranoia about our own echo chambers! This show is a non-stop party about finding unconditional love and strangely (to me) not political at all,” she said. wrote. “Damn, I’m pouring beer out of my ts (it’s also a party thing…I don’t really lactate stupid hops!) I hope to sing with you guys in 2023!” And we’ll drink, this one’s for me, ’cause we’re all #chainedtothealgorithm.”

Perry has just announced a series of new dates for his Resorts World Las Vegas residency from February to April next year.
