A special type of artwork that players use to celebrate Pokemon is crocheted. Many fans have assembled a number of creatures over the years, creating some cute renditions of the pocket monsters. A player assembled a crochet doll of one of the starters of Pokemon second generation.

A Reddit user named ConstanzaL shared an image of a Cyndaquil they put together. The Fire-Type starter Pokemon doll captures it incredibly well, even including small details such as the white spikes it has on the end of its hind legs. ConstanzaL also included a flared fabric for fire that flares out from the pocket monster’s back, creating an awesome effect that simulates it quite well. The doll is adorable and helps show why so many players love the starter.

Reddit users love ConstanzaL’s crocheted Cyndaquil. This led commentators to ask the artist if he did commissions, to which they replied that he sometimes did. They were also asked about the model used, to which ConstanzaL said they used theirs. The fire effect on the Pokémon’s back is also getting praise, which ConstanzaL said he was grateful for because it took them forever to do. The doll is incredibly well made and would be perfect for anyone who loves Fire-Type pocket monsters.

Cyndaquil debuted in Pokemon Gold and silver alongside Chikorita and Totodile. It was also one of the starting pocket monsters that can be chosen in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava, which in turn becomes Typhlosion. Although originally a pure Fire-type creature when it debuted, Typhlosion received Ghost-Typing in Pokemon Legends: Arceus as a regional variation for Hisui. In the anime, Ash and Dawn each possessed a Cyndaquil, both of which evolved into Quilava. The Pokemon was summonable via the Pokeball item in Super Smash Bros. Meleebut only appeared as a trophy in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. ConstanzaL’s Cyndaquil doll does a good job of capturing the cuteness that has led many gamers to fall in love with the pocket monster and keep him as a team member in games.

Pokemon scarlet and violet will be released on November 18 on Nintendo Switch.
