A homeowner was shocked to discover a rag doll holding a creepy note inside the wall of his new property.

Jonathan Lewis, 32, had collected the keys to his new home in Walton, Liverpool on Friday when he decided to examine the void under the stairs which had been barricaded.

The elementary school teacher hit the wall with a hammer and quickly discovered the rag doll, wearing a striped dress and beanie, clutching a sinister note inside the cavity.

The memo described how she stabbed the original owners of the property in 1961 before going on to say, “Hope you sleep well.”

But Mr Lewis was informed by the estate agent that the cooking was only done “four or five years ago” and said the note must have been placed by the previous owners around this time. .

Mr Lewis told the Liverpool Echo: “I just bought the house and got the keys on Friday.

“I kind of knew there was this void under the stairs that had been covered in plaster.

“There was a wire sticking out from where the previous owners had the refrigerator, but I didn’t know where the wire was plugged in, so I knocked on the plasterboard a bit to see what was there. had.

“I punched a hole the size of a fist, turned on a light, and there was a doll just sitting there.”
