Apple continued to publicize its upcoming “Servant” original series on Wednesday with a trailer showing the construction of “Jericho,” a doll that plays a central role in the thriller.
The one-minute spot, posted on the official Apple TV+ YouTube account, is titled “Made with love” and takes a closer look at Jericho, the eerily realistic doll who appears to be the centerpiece of the M-produced miniseries. Night Shyamalan.
As with previous clips, today’s trailer features a smooth, melodic backing track that contrasts with dark and somewhat disturbing imagery.
A bespectacled man is seen stroking Jericho’s hands and face, examining his handiwork. The scene cuts to a close-up of the doll’s forehead, where the craftsman inserts a single hair. The piano strings swell as he switches to a pair of glass eyes, placing one in the doll’s right socket.
The image fades and fades back, where we find Jericho lying in a cradle, arms outstretched. A woman, considered the series’ mother figure, picks up the doll and gently coos at it as the “Servant” title panel appears.
Not much is known about “Servant” other than what little Apple offers in a blurb that accompanies each announcement.
“From M. Night Shyamalan, Servant follows a grieving Philadelphia couple after an untold tragedy creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home,” reads the text.
