Baby doll adoption at Seasons Care Center – Lee’s Summit Tribune

November 6, 2021

The Seasons Care Center, located at 15600 Woods Chapel Road in Kansas City, is having an infant adoption event at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9.

The center works with Angel Embrace of St. Louis.

Life-size, soft and cuddly dolls are a personal gift from Angel Embrace and belong to the individual rather than the institution. Each baby is accompanied by an adoption certificate with their name and meaning. Stimulating and encouraging names are chosen for each baby, such as Kelsey (brave) or Asher (happy and blessed).

For memory care / Alzheimer’s patients, holding / caring for a doll can:

• Bring emotional comfort
• Produce a calming effect
• Relieve loneliness
• Provide a useful activity
• Reduce anxiety / restlessness
• Improve social interactions / communications

Seasons Care Center is a memory care facility that offers skilled nursing / rehabilitation, as well as long-term placement. They are nestled in a beautiful wooded area, near University Health-Lakewood (formerly Truman Lakewood), and offer very scenic views and a staff knowledgeable to care for loved ones with dementia.
